The period began in 3150 BC when Upper and Lower Egypt united under their first Pharaoh. The rule of the Pharaohs continued until 31 BC, when Roman conquered Egypt and made it a province.
The Egyptian people were one of the most advanced early societies. They were an amazing culture and responsible for many discoveries. Some of their discoveries were irrigation for their crops; they learnt quarrying and various construction methods, architecture, mathematics, and medicine. They created boats to sail up and down the Nile River, in fact they were the builder of the first known ships.
To this day some of the Egyptian pyramid building techniques cannot be copied. And we are still trying to understand how they came up with the astrology, science and math they used in their daily lives.
